Rosie, Sonny & Teddy Farrier Visit
$65
This price is per horse. Rosie, Sonny and Teddy are barefoot (no shoes). Trimmings for them is every 6-8 weeks. Rosie a is BIG girl but her hooves are not as large as your typical draft; this is because she is half donkey. Rosies outside wall of her back hooves wear down slightly faster than the inside wall, this is probably due to her natural positioning, which is secondary to issues with her rear bone structure. Her hooves on her back end bow out and this can be due to her being overworked as a plow horse at a younger age. She is a whole lot of mule and we will never win the strength game with her so it’s best to give her belly scratches and distract her while getting trimmings done. Teddy and Sonny for the most part are perfect gentlemen, they stand still and lift thier feet with ease.

Equine Dentist
$300
Yes, all our equines see a dentist! We know to the outside world it sounds funny but, maintaining routine dental exams is just as important as all their other needs. Proper dental care prevents premature tooth loss and promotes more complete utilization of feed. So, what kind of dental care do our equines get done? Their teeth floated!
What is floating a horse’s teeth? The purpose of floating is to remove sharp points that have developed on the teeth and encourage an even grinding pattern to aid in digestion. This dental procedure is typically performed once a year. Sometimes, some equines can go a little bit longer but, they should still be checked yearly.

One Mini Horse Farrier Visit
$65
This farrier service sponsorship is per mini. If you want to donate for one or both we are grateful either way. Mama Blue and Bella are both barefoot (no shoes) and require farrier care every 6-8 weeks. Their feet are obviously very tiny due to their small size and their trimming and filing can take a matter of a few minutes or sometimes 20 or more, depending on their level of sassiness that day.
Bella typically will stand well and lift all four of her dainty feet with ease. Mama Blue on the other hand is the bigger challenge when it comes to trimming. We are helping her understand we are here to help her.

Levi Farrier Visit
$200.00
Levi is typically barefoot (no shoes) but due to a hospitalization in 2023 and having to undergo an emergency hoof resection he will require a special shoe on his back left foot. His trimmings will be every 5 weeks. Levi’s foot care has fluctuated over the past few years since we have had him. When we saved Levi in Sept 2020, he was wearing shoes on all four hooves. Since then, we removed his back shoes in December of 2020 and his fronts in October of 2021. In February of 2022 due to a huge abscess, he had to have special wedged shoes placed on his back end again. May 2022, our farrier said it was safe to remove his back shoes again. Levi is pretty good with the farrier but, he has always been a little fussy with his back left hoof. He has an old injury from a presumed barbed wire fence that cut open his foot pretty bad at an unknown time in his life, but now he has undergone surgery to correct that, however the road to recovery on this one is a long one!

Training Session
$50-$80
You might ask, if our horses live life primarily as pasture pets, why sponsor a training? We like to use a trainer to ensure we are properly maintaining a close and safe bond with our equines. Being coached by an expert horse trainer helps us, help them and even you if you volunteer with us! Learning to speak horse can be very tricky if you do not understand body language. The most important advantages are quite obvious: a body in motion stays in motion. Keeping our equines in a movement program helps keeps their muscles strong and in good health. It also maintains a gentler equine and also because our equines come from unknown live exposures prior to arriving with us, a lot of them have traumas we would like to help them move through properly.

Spring Vaccinations
$250
We are located at a boarding facility, and we have to have these done. These vaccines are done every spring, and this is the price per equine. These vaccinations include, Rabies, Tetanus, West Nile, Equine Encephalitis, Influenza, Rhinopneumonitis and de-worming.
Veterinarian: Colts Neck Equine
Last Done: March 2024
Equine Supplements
$200.00
Supplements with our equines can vary. After each horse is seen by our local veterinarian, we discuss supplements that should be started based off of an initial evaluation and bloodwork. All of our equines are on K.I.S. Trace Minerals. This cost is a one-month supply of K.I.S Trace and does not include their other supplements. They have been removed from eating grain as it can cause an inflammatory response and since our equines are pasture only, we felt that taking them off grain was for the better. A few of our equines are on additional supplements because they need to be, and some are used for preventative reasons.
Fall Vaccinations
$70
We are located at a boarding facility, and we must have these done. These vaccines are done every fall season and the price is per equine. These vaccinations include Influenza, Equine Encephalitis, West Nile and de-worming.
Veterinarian: Colts Neck Equine
Last Done: October 2023
Equine Supplies
$25
Your contribution will assist with the little things like, Thrush Buster, hairbrushes and combs, hoof picks, fly spray, shampoo, conditioner, mane detangler, skin care products to treat and prevent things like rain rot, sweet itch or any other bacterial skin conditions, sore muscle rubs, hoof conditioner, contributions towards blankets both light and heavy, fleeces/coolers, waterproof sheets, fly sheets or boots, abscess and wound care supplies, lead ropes, halters and even something so little like a bag of treats!
Emergency Vet Expenses
$500
Sometimes like us, our equines fall ill or get injured, and it goes beyond what we can do for them. These calls are considered emergency visits and they come with a very high invoice just to come to the farm, and it does not cover what actually needs to be performed or administered. We try to avoid these calls because our donations can be used in so many other areas of our rescue but at times, they are necessary. We have a separate savings account for emergency medical visits.
Monthly Farm Rent
$2500.00
This sponsorship donation is our monthly rent for the farm.
